I have had many Bushnell Forecasters and been very pleased. Many are only for 152 cities. This one did not say that so I ordered it. Nothing warned me that you must connect to a computer to get it working. I use a computer but I could not figure out what to do. The batteries are in it but it will not work

You would think that an item such as this would work across the two primary operating systems in the US. While the description talks about a PC, it would have been helpful if they’d also said, “Mac users need not order. . . we can’t be troubled. ” I accept responsibility for not picking up on this before I ordered, but it’s been a long time since I purchased software-dependent products that didn’t include a Mac option.

After connecting the weather station to my computer it worked fine. I am happy with this product.
I do recommend it to others with same interests as me.

The item is not the problem as we have given four of these as gifts. The last one we ordered was distributed by Ace Digital Photo. They are charging a restocking fee of 10% with a 14 day return policy. The problem with the tower in the Savannah area could not be ‘fixed’. Bushnell thought the problem could be corrected but could not. On Friday they asked that the product be returned. Bushnell was great ~ the product is great ~ the distributor is not. It is disappointing that this product cannot be used in the Savannah area.

I tried a couple of other weather stations. They both required some type of outdoor sensor in addition to Internet connection. This Bushnell only requires connection to the Internet via your existing PC.

    Good points:
Nice big easy to read screen with backlight.
Can run on batteries or included AC adapter.
Good range. I have it 60 feet from PC on totally opposite sides of the house.
Gives wind direction and “real feel”

    Bad points:
Must have PC on to get current temp. (But all else displays with PC off)
