Joliet man survives aneurysm, tornado
1990 tornado 20th anniversary: On July 5, an aneurysm ruptured inside Jim Stasell’s head. Stasell had just returned home Aug. 4, exhausted from a month in bed and relearning how to walk. For the next few weeks, Stasell, on foot and accompanied by his wife, took short jaunts around the neighborhood. On Aug. 28, he decided to make a solo trip.
