    BP did this?

I thought it was a malfunction on an oil rig.

Because there was no protocol in place for fixing a mistake at that depth if something were to go wrong. So the crap hit the fan now they are are like, “Oops! What now?” Realistically there should have been a plan in place in case something like this happened. . it should be required by law (which I assume will be soon enough) but it wasn’t at the time. At 5,000 feet down, the pressures are so immensely high, nobody can dive to that depth so everything has to be done by remote robots and honestly, they just don’t know what to do.

BP’s stock is up today about 1. 34, or about 4% if it’s value. . . . Honestly I don’t know why. . Pollute and capitalize. The American way.

Well you haven’t given them enough time to fix things. But they are working on it.

Well. . . seriously, why should BP fix the “golf” of Mexico?

Mexican “golf” has created some champions over the years. Lorena Ochoa and Joe Jiminez to name a couple. So Mexico’s doing ok in that area.

Let BP get on with fixing their oil leak in the “Gulf”.

They may be incompetent when it comes to the placement of security valves on their deep-water wells, putting huge caps and covers on burst outlets, firing golf balls and old tyres into oil-spewing underwater pipes; and, they may be sadly deficient in ensuring safety measures are put in place that prioritise environmental concerns, but let’s NOT blame BP for any problems in relation to Mexican “golf”.

I’m sure that if BP could snap their fingers to fix the well, they would. As it is, they are trying everything they can to stop or slow the leak and the only known method of stopping the leak is to drill the relief well which they started as soon as the accident occurred, problem is that it takes time to drill a relief well.

BP leased the rig, they didn’t actually build it.

The real question should be why isn’t the US government making BP fix it, or seizing enough assets to fix it. BP wont fix it on their own because it isn’t profitable.
