We were watching the news about this storm and I couldn’t just sit inside while this monster reared its ugly teeth just outside my door…we were kept safe (this time), and these winds are a reminder of last year’s F2 tornado that swept this same neighborhood; downing trees, hurling trampolines into power lines, and ripping shingles and siding off of homes.

Unfortunately, with our focus on the northern part of the state, we did not witness the much stronger tornadoes in the Oklahoma City metro area, which even did significant damage in my hometown of Norman. A state of emergency’s been declared across the US state of Mississippi after a tornado ripped through several counties killing at least ten. Authorities say more than a dozen are wounded with children among the dead. The severe weather caused widespread damage to the region. Several houses were flattened and fallen trees are blocking roads.
